PRO: When Hicks (the Dallas Stars and Texas Rangers owner) and Gillett (the money behind the Montreal Canadiens) bought iconic English soccer club Liverpool in February 2007, Hicks told TIME that both men were keen to "keep a great thing going great."
CON: Fast-forward 17 months and the two are just barely on speaking terms. They've squabbled over the club's future Hicks is intent on buying Gillett's stake; Gillett has looked keener to sell to Arab investors and undermined the team's coach. The fans' response: a fund-raising campaign to buy the club themselves.
